Mapping and modelling business processes
- Is the system functional? - Is it efficient? - Is it successful? - Is there continuity of service? ... These are all essential questions for managers to ask, and the answers can be very hard to determine. A manager's requirement to find answers to these questions is precisely the focus of our service in mapping and modelling business processes. We uncover the fundamental issue: the way the organization operates, what resources are available, what the organization is capable of accomplishing, what its primary and secondary processes are, as well as its bottlenecks, problems, flaws and deficiencies in operation. One of the most effective approaches – and the one which we at KÜRT use – is the system-centred approach. The main advantage of this is that the person monitoring the system can clearly and simply observe its workings and its problems, without getting lost in minutiae. We employ a technique known as reverse engineering, which creates a model of the status quo by exploring and back-tracking the properties of the system in operation. There are various methods and computer-aided solutions available, covering various aspects of component-based corporate and process modelling. By choosing technologies and tools wisely, we are able to ensure that every skilled member of the organization is aware of his organization's aims and processes, and is able to see clearly the precise working of the entire organization.
