Quality control of IT projects
A significant part of IT project work crosses over into a company’s organizational units, thus making it vital to focus on regulating project work. Particular attention should be paid to resource management as it affects organizational units. People who have already worked on tasks like this know what is involved and those new to such work should try to avoid getting involved for as long as possible. We use IT project management tools with the primary aim of identifying quickly and clearly potential and actual deviations from our program or project plans, so that we can take steps towards correcting operations. In line with international recommendations KÜRT uses the PRINCE* project management methodology and the SSADM** structured system analysis and design method, both of which have been designed to manage and monitor independent IT projects, and we adjust these tools to fit the given assignment and environment. This approach requires projects to be implemented following a project plan that clearly and precisely defines and assesses the progress of the entire project; it divides tasks to be completed into activity-oriented units organised in phases and assigns to these units their remits, costs and timeframes. It is designed to fit in with other parallel IT projects and it sets up the most appropriate project organization to get the project done. Within the framework of our quality control of IT projects, we offer the following services: maintaining contact with project participants, documenting project activities on an ongoing basis, preparing projects, reducing project risks, professional assessment of project planning, professional assessment of testing, assessment of implementation, management and control of the hand over, management of the introduction process and management of the completion of projects.
